Cyber security and IT for private clients, family offices and estates

High-net-worth individuals and family offices face risks that corporate IT was never designed for: impersonation, account takeover, homes that double as offices, staff with access, and a family’s life online. STG protects all of it, and runs the private office too, with discretion as the starting point.

Who we work with

Built for private lives, not office estates

High-net-worth individuals

Your digital life is as valuable as anything you own, and far easier to reach. We protect it with the same care your physical security gets.

Family offices

A private office handles banking, legal and personal matters for a family. It needs corporate-grade IT and security, run by people who understand discretion.

Landed estates and rural businesses

Estates run on networks the broadband map forgot: houses, cottages, farm buildings, holiday lets and staff. We make them secure and reliable.

Founders and executives

Your personal accounts and devices are the soft route into your company. We close that route without slowing you down.

Public figures and their families

Visibility attracts attention. We reduce what can be found, watch what is said in your name, and protect the people around you.

Advisers acting for a principal

Lawyers, wealth managers and family office directors who need a security partner they can bring to a client with confidence.

The risks are personal

What actually goes wrong

Wealth is rarely lost to a sophisticated hack. It is lost to a convincing message, a reused password, or a phone number that was easier to steal than anyone thought. These are the six we see most.

Impersonation and fraud

An email or WhatsApp that appears to come from you, sent to your bank, your assistant or a family member, is the most common way private wealth is lost. We make your identity hard to fake and easy to verify.

Account takeover and SIM swap

Your phone number is the key to everything. We harden the accounts that matter, remove SMS as a weak link, and monitor for the early signs of a takeover.

The home is the office

Estate networks, smart homes, CCTV, guest Wi-Fi and staff devices all share the same connection. We separate what should be separate and watch the rest.

Travel

Hotel networks, borrowed chargers, border device checks and public Wi-Fi. We prepare devices before you go and provide clean connectivity where you land.

Staff and household

Assistants, housekeepers, drivers and contractors often hold more access than anyone realises. We set access properly, and remove it properly when people move on.

Children and family

Location sharing, social media and shared devices leak more than most parents know. We help families reduce exposure without a lecture.

What we provide

Security and IT, run as one service

01

Assessment and hardening

A quiet review of your accounts, devices, homes and online footprint, then the fixes: strong authentication everywhere, hardened devices, separated networks, and the sensitive information removed from where it should not be.

02

Family office IT

Managed IT for the private office: devices, Microsoft 365, secure document handling, backups, vendor management and a helpdesk that knows who you are. Corporate reliability without corporate exposure.

03

Monitoring

Continuous watch on your identity, your domains and lookalikes, credential leaks on the dark web, and the health of your home and office networks, with alerts to us first.

04

Secure communications

Properly configured secure messaging, email and video for principals, family and advisers, with verification habits that stop a convincing impersonation before money moves.

05

Travel and residence security

Devices prepared for travel, secure connectivity for hotels and second homes, and temporary networks for events and stays, provisioned and removed cleanly.

06

Incident response and adviser liaison

If something goes wrong, one call. We contain it, work directly with your bank, lawyers and insurers where you want us to, and tell you honestly what happened.

How an engagement runs

Three steps, at your pace

01

A confidential conversation

Usually with the principal or the person who runs the office. We listen to how you live and work before we suggest anything.

02

A quiet assessment

We review accounts, devices, properties and online footprint at a pace that suits the household, and put the priorities in plain English.

03

Ongoing, or on call

Some clients want us running the office and watching continuously. Others want a partner on call. Both are fine, and both are discreet.

Discretion

We will never tell anyone we work for you

No client lists, no case studies, no name-dropping, and no conversation about one client with another. Non-disclosure agreements are welcome. We ask for the minimum access each task needs, document it, and remove it when we are done. Founded in Stirling, we work with private clients across the UK and overseas.

Questions

Asked before anyone signs anything

Who is private client security for?

High-net-worth individuals, family offices, landed estates, founders and executives, public figures and their families, and the advisers who act for them. If your personal digital life or private office needs the care a company would give its own systems, it is for you.

How is this different from a normal IT company?

Corporate IT providers are built for offices with a hundred identical laptops. Private clients have homes, estates, family members, household staff, travel and public profiles, and the threats are personal: impersonation, account takeover, fraud. We are built for that, and discretion is the starting point rather than an afterthought.

Do you work alongside our existing family office staff and advisers?

Yes. Most engagements involve an office manager, a personal assistant, lawyers or wealth managers. We work with them, brief them properly, and take instruction from whoever the principal nominates.

Will you need access to everything?

No. We ask for the minimum access needed for each piece of work, document it, and remove it when finished. You will always know what we can see.

Do you cover the whole of the UK, and overseas?

Yes. We are based in Stirling and work with private clients across the UK and overseas. Much of the work is remote by design; we travel to residences and offices where an engagement needs it.

How is confidentiality handled?

We do not publish client lists or case studies, we never discuss one client with another, and everyone at STG works under confidentiality obligations. Non-disclosure agreements are welcome and normal.

Start with a conversation nobody else will hear about

Tell us a little about your situation. A senior member of the team responds directly, and nothing is shared beyond the people you nominate.
